Supercomputers … and a few other surprises

Did you know that within 5 years we’ll have supercomputers that will surpass the computing capabilities of the human brain? By 2049 a single home computer will exceed the processing potential of our entire species! …



Did you also know that China will soon be at the top of the list of English speaking countries?

How about the fact that the top 10 in-demand jobs today did not even exist in 2004?

Those are just a few of the amazing statistics on this short video clip a friend forwarded to me a while back. When I first saw it, the yogic messages sprung up like wildflowers in my mind.

As the clip suggests, we are living in exponential times. As more and more people are struggling for greater simplicity in life, the frantic pace of change seems to provide constant new challenges.

So, what does it all mean? How can we reconcile the seemily relentless forward push of modern technology, economics and science with a genuine desire for spiritual growth and transformation?

Do modern times present insurmaountable challenges on the spiritual path, or new and unique opportunities for growth and understanding? …. or both?
